Liechtensteinklamm draws you into a world of rushing water and towering rock. The gorge narrows around the walkway, the light shifts as the walls rise overhead, and the sound of the river follows you deeper inside. Bridges and passages lead to the Helix, a striking spiral staircase that descends into the gorge and opens a new view of its scale. It is a compact visit with a real sense of entering the mountain.

Walk into the gorge
The visitor route extends about a kilometre into the gorge before returning the same way. Allow around an hour and a half for the walk, with extra time to take in the scenery. The Helix staircase drops about 30 metres and makes the gorge feel especially close; steps and narrow walkways appear throughout the route. The return gives you a chance to notice how different the same passage looks from the other direction.
View in GoExploringAccess and opening season
The route is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers, and the many stairs make it a more demanding outing than the short distance suggests. The gorge is seasonal, so check current opening hours and ticket information before travelling. Grippy shoes are useful on damp walkways.
