Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply when you use GoExploring.

Last updated 2026-10-01

These Terms and Conditions (the Terms) apply when you access or use the GoExploring website, mobile app, and related services (together, GoExploring or the Service). Javier Iglesias Garcia operates the Service personally in Spain. References to we, us, or our mean the operator.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use GoExploring. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to accept these Terms.

GoExploring is available worldwide. You are responsible for using it lawfully wherever you live or travel.

2. Accounts

You can create an account using a supported third-party sign-in provider. Provide accurate information and keep your sign-in account secure. Contact us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your GoExploring account without permission. You are responsible for your use of the account and actions you authorize through it, including actions by connected apps. You are not automatically responsible for unauthorized activity outside your reasonable control.

You may delete your account from the app. Deletion removes your account and associated GoExploring data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may keep information that the law requires us to retain.

3. The Service

GoExploring helps you discover places, organize expeditions, record mission progress, and access information or links related to destinations and activities. Features and available content may change as the Service develops.

Mission descriptions, locations, access information, routes, images, opening conditions, prices, and third-party offers may become inaccurate or unavailable. GoExploring helps you explore. It does not provide navigation, emergency, safety, weather, medical, or professional guidance. Always verify current conditions with official and local sources before travelling or starting an activity.

Notes, sharing, calendars, and connected apps

You retain any rights you have in your private mission notes and expedition titles. You permit us to store, synchronize, and display them as needed to provide the features you use. Share only information you have the right to disclose, including information about other people.

Anyone with an expedition sharing link can view its title, selected missions, planned dates, and archive status, and may forward the link or retain copies. Shared views exclude private notes. Archiving does not disable the link. Deleting the expedition or your account makes the link unavailable through GoExploring but cannot remove copies others have kept.

Connecting an expedition to your system calendar creates and updates a dedicated expedition calendar. Review your calendar account's sharing and synchronization settings. Withdrawing calendar permission stops updates. Deleting your account does not automatically remove calendar events already created.

If you authorize an external app or assistant, it may read or change expedition information within the permissions you grant. Review its requested permissions and its own terms and privacy policy before connecting it. Check changes it makes to your plans. You may disconnect through the external service or contact us to request removal of its GoExploring authorization. Removing access does not erase copies already held by that service.

4. Safety and travel responsibility

Travel and outdoor activities can involve serious risks, including injury, illness, property loss, changing weather, difficult terrain, wildlife, transport disruption, political conditions, and restricted access.

You remain solely responsible for:

  • assessing whether an activity is suitable for your health, experience, skills, and equipment;
  • checking weather, access rules, permits, closures, local laws, and official safety advice;
  • obtaining appropriate guides, insurance, transport, permissions, and emergency arrangements; and
  • deciding whether to begin, continue, change, or stop an activity.

Do not trespass, enter closed or unsafe areas, damage natural or cultural sites, disturb wildlife, or put yourself or others at risk to complete a mission. A location-based completion or notification does not mean that a location is safe or that you are permitted to enter it.

If app information conflicts with signs, authorities, land managers, emergency services, or conditions on the ground, follow the authoritative instruction or safer course.

5. Location and notifications

Some optional features use your device's location to show relevant map areas, verify proximity to missions, track eligible missions in the background, and notify you of a completion. You control location and notification permissions through your device settings.

Location signals can be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate. You must not rely on GoExploring for emergency location, personal tracking, navigation, or rescue.

6. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Service unlawfully or to endanger, harass, deceive, or harm anyone;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, another account, or related systems;
  • interfere with the Service, introduce malicious code, evade security or usage controls, or probe for vulnerabilities without permission;
  • scrape, copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its content except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • submit false, abusive, unlawful, infringing, or misleading content reports; or
  • misuse third-party links, offers, or services accessed through GoExploring.

We may restrict or end access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, third parties, or legal compliance. We will consider the nature and seriousness of the issue before acting. Where reasonably possible, we will explain the restriction and tell you how to request a review. We may act immediately where needed to address a security risk, prevent harm, or comply with law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

7. Content and intellectual property

We own or license the Service, including its software, design, branding, text, mission curation, and original media. Applicable intellectual-property laws protect these materials. Third-party images and other materials remain subject to their owners' rights and stated licences.

These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of the Service or its content to you.

If you submit a mission content report or other feedback, you keep any rights you have in your submission. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, review, reproduce, and use it only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve GoExploring. You confirm that you have the right to submit it.

8. Third-party services and offers

GoExploring may display or open content, maps, websites, activities, or offers provided by third parties, including activity providers. Third parties operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, we do not operate, control, endorse, or guarantee a third-party service or offer. You and the third party handle availability, eligibility, safety, price, booking, payment, cancellation, and fulfilment. GoExploring may use affiliate links and may receive compensation if you complete a qualifying transaction, without increasing the price solely because of that link.

9. Availability and changes

We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. We do not promise that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Where reasonably possible, we will avoid unnecessary disruption.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our operations. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will explain the change and its effective date and provide reasonable advance notice through the Service or another appropriate channel, except where an urgent legal or security requirement prevents advance notice. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you may stop using the Service and delete your account before they take effect. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, we do not give warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded.

These Terms do not exclude or limit liability where the law prohibits it. This includes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable. Your mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, loss caused by your failure to follow official guidance or reasonable safety precautions, or the acts, omissions, content, products, and services of third parties. You remain responsible for your travel and activity decisions.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also retain any mandatory protections granted by the law of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in any court available to you under applicable consumer law. For other users, disputes about these Terms are subject to the courts of Spain.

Before starting formal proceedings, you and we agree to contact each other and try in good faith to resolve the dispute, unless urgent relief is reasonably required.
