These are point-to-point walks. Add travel to the start and from the finish, along with breaks. Even on an easy-rated stage, you will need walking shoes, water and a route you can follow.
Choose Hanthana to Galaha near Kandy
Stage 1 fits a hill-country walking day during a stay around Kandy. Locate the start in Hanthana and arrange a pick-up in Galaha before setting off, so the journey back is settled.
If you want a guide, ask the organiser to confirm the exact authorised route and any current changes. Use that information to prepare for the walk.

If you are staying in the Hatton area, consider Stage 6. It is the longest of these three walks, so allow for transfers as well as walking before booking onward travel.
The official directory flags special trail hours for this stage. Check the current instructions before choosing a start time. Do not assume the general opening hours for the wider trail apply to every section.
Ella to Demodara for a shorter day
Stage 16 has the shortest published distance and walking estimate of these choices. It can fit a stay in Ella without changing base, provided you arrange the journey back from Demodara.
For any of the three routes, check the current trail-pass arrangements and whether extra permissions or fees apply. Follow the official navigation through working land and ask before photographing workers.
